EDUCATION

The Apparel Textiles and Merchandising Program at Central Washington University has given me the opportunity to learn a wide breadth of industry knowledge. This program has given me the opportunity to classes to gain important industry skills and knowledge. This program has also given me opportunities to make connections and to network with industry professional through fieldtrips.  I was also given the opportunity to be an Ambassador for the ATM program which allows me to develop my communication and leadership skills.

DIGITAL PRESENTATION TECHNIQUES

Through Digital Presentation Techniques I have learned how to effectively use  Adobe creative suite programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. Using these programs I learned how to make technical flats, textile swatches, mood boards, posters and more

PRINCIPLES OF MARKETING

Through this course I learned the fundamental concepts of marketing. This course focused on the importance of social, cultural and economic information and their impacts on marketing strategies.

FASHION LINE DEVELOPMENT

I repeated this course twice to gain more design experience. In this course I developed a three piece collection that is showcased in CWU's annual fashion show. In addition to designs I create a technical package for each garment. In 2020 I was awarded "Judges Outstanding Collection" for my line Cherry Bomb. 

TREND ANALYSIS

Through this course I learned techniques and skills needed to research, report and analyze fashion trends. In this class a devolved a trend look book for spring 2021.

MERCHANDISE BUYING & PLANNING

In this class I learned  how to efficiently manage merchandise and the duties of a merchandising manger. I also learned important concepts such as basic stock model, open-to-buy, and inventory control methods. During this course I developed a six month merchandising plan for a mock high end retailer called Perry's.

APPAREL MANUFACTURING

In this class I learned about the quality assurance process along the supply chain. I also learned how to identify stich and seam classifications as well as understand garment construction details and assembly processes. This course also taught me how to evaluate costing variables through the manufacturing process. I developed a technical package for garments that included technical flats, construction process, points of measure and costing.
